The Psychospirituality of Prosperity
By Dr. Greenfield

Why do some people seem to be comfortable with money and finances, while others seem perpetually burdened by wanting, needing , and yet not having money in their lives. It is not simply because of their job or life circumstances, rather those are a function of our psycho-spiritual beliefs and connection regarding money and prosperity. Often we feel controlled by money and our relationship with money has a negative and energy-draining connotation. We are often at the effect of negative circumstances surrounding money, yet bewildered as to why we can’t seem to get it together financially. We are at the “effect” of money, as opposed to affecting our relationship to it. Instead of creating a comfort and attraction to money we create the opposite experience, and actually reject and repel wealth. Prosperity begins from the inside out, and not based on what we do. Money, or rather doing what we need to do to earn/create money, comes from the comfort and a positive context with having it. We thereby create an attraction of like energies. Even the concept of earning money has a negative connotation imbedded with in. It assumes that one must deserve to have money. The word “deserve” serves to imply a strong degree of judgment. When we judge we are simply connecting to our unconscious judgments we have about ourselves. The dis-owned parts of us that we wish to remain in our shadow. Owning these parts is where we gain our and growth and where we find the connection to our divine self. If you have not deemed yourself worthy of wealth (unconsciousness) than you will thwart any physical attempt to create money in your life

We assume that money is some finite thing, found in limited quantities. That you either have it or not, and if you don’t have it, you can never get it. It is like the jewel that is forever out of our reach. The jewel is for the other people who are lucky, who deserve it, or who are in the right place at the right time. If fact, money is nothing more than a physical manifestation of energy. Money is a concrete example of our inward energetic state of being and our relationship to our perceptions of our universe. This does not mean that that if don’t have money that we deserve this or that there is something wrong with us. There is no judgment to any of this; simply it reflects how we see ourselves and or relationship to money and our having money, and what would happen to us (and others) if we had money. Just as all matter in the universe is energy in differing vibration patterns. There is limit on the amount of money we can create or attract in reality; this may seem at odds with the way the physical universe actually works. We act on that which we are open and prepared to actually attract. We absorb what are physical are ready and capable to absorb. This isn’t about deserving anything. We all deserve to have a feeling and experience of abundance in our lives. Even our language reflects the cause and effect nature of our views of money. WE have to earn it, or if you don’t t you are poor. These are statement about our character and our being. No wonder we get all cross-wired when it comes to money.

In order to create the proper attraction to the energy that will manifest money we must first overcome a strong degree of psychological and spiritual inertia. An object is easier to move once it is moving, so here we are moving or thought and emotions and whatever energy we have liked to them. We also must challenge our belief in the idea of a lack of abundance is inevitable for some of us, and there is not enough to go around.

When we feel we lack, we do things that reflect our sense of deserving to lack and we therefore do not create an experience of attracting what we want. The law of attraction states that like is attracted to like things, and that our relative level of intention and receptivity toward abundance (financial and otherwise) is what create the context within which for the actual abundance to occur. It is not simply that if you believe you will have money that money will come, but rather that you create a space/place within your consciousness and daily life to allow it to manifest. This will occur however, only if the creation of such wealth is consistent with a greater good for the world and the Universe in general. In other words, you cannot simply state that you want more money for monies sake, as this does no one any good-least of all yourself. But asking and creating space for this to occur in the context of helping others, improving the quality of others lives, or even simply taking care of your children or loved one can open the gates to prosperity. It is a form of intended consciousness. We have to be clear that our intention is to create something of spiritual value to the lives we touch, including our own.

We must also fight our belief in a linear model of abundance, e.g. that A=B. There are unknown aspects of how energy and matter interact and that which we see and reality is only one small sliver of the possibilities. There are in actuality no limitations in the possibilities of accumulating wealth, and is NOT about what you do. There is not a zero sum game when it comes to money and prosperity. If you have a clear and consistent intention, than you and the universe will conspire to create the activities necessary to produce the physicality of the wealth you seek. We must challenge our idea that if one person has a lot than another cannot have as much. This makes no sense is reality as the two events have nothing to do with each other. Yet we treat them as related. As if what you do changes what I can or cannot do. We attract that which we feel comfortable with in ourselves. And it is this level of comfort that propels us toward or away from the creation of wealth in our lives.
